Dining In
Why not add some extra treats to your stay at our Birmingham aparthotel? We try to work with local suppliers to bring you organic, free range, regionally-procured or Fairtrade food and drink.
In this section you will find:
Complimentary in-apartment supplies
Complimentary in-apartment supplies
Coffee, tea and hot chocolate
You will find English breakfast tea, green and peppermint teas in the kitchen.
There’s also a pint of milk in your fridge. If you run out of anything, just ask at reception and we’ll re-stock your fridge. We also stock a small supply of non-dairy milks (normally oat, soya and almond) – just let us know when you book, or ask at reception, and we’ll pop one in your apartment (no charge).
Melitta espresso machine & milk frothers
Good coffee makes a great start to the day. That’s why every apartment has a Melitta Espresso Maker with fresh coffee beans from our local independent roasters Quarter Horse.
Don’t forget to switch it on at the wall and follow the operating instructions on the coffee label.
We also provide Bodum milk frothers for those who love a cappuccino or latte. If you prefer a long black you can adjust the size of your coffee using the dial on the machine.
If you run out of beans, just ask at reception and we’ll provide some more.
Juicer
You’ll find oranges and grapefruit for the juicer in the sealed bag in the fridge, the perfect combo for a great glass of chilled juice.
- Plug in the electric juicer
- Halve your oranges and grapefruit
- Gently press the halves down on the juicer and voila.
Just a word about the oranges and grapefruit. We select them especially for juicing so while they may not look the prettiest or feel the firmest they do make good juice.
We try to avoid waste so we choose regular deliveries and don’t put too many in your fridge at once. If you would like more during your stay (they’re free!) just let us know. And if you know you aren’t going to use them, please do let us know that too.
Cereals
We’re in the process of changing (improving!) our breakfast offering. But you’ll currently find both porridge oats and muesli on your counter top.
Kitchen essentials
You will find cold-pressed rapeseed oil (suitable for both salads and high-temperature frying) plus balsamic vinegar next to the hob along with sea salt and black pepper grinders for seasoning. Just a few kitchen essentials in case you fancy cooking up a storm during your stay.
We’ve also pulled together some recipes created especially for us by local chef Alex Claridge of The Wilderness fame if you’re looking for some simple and tasty dinner inspiration. They are all easy but delicious.
Made in the Midlands Tuck Shop
Feeling peckish but too comfy to move? Fear not, the Staying Cool Tuck Shop is here to save the day!
We’ve bundled together a few of our favourite snacks and refreshments from some local small, independent suppliers (nearly all from Birmingham), so you don’t have to move far to satisfy that sweet or savoury craving. Peruse the in-apartment menu (also below) and help yourself. We’ll add the cost to your booking total after check-out, charge your card and email you the receipt.
As always, if there’s something from the tuck shop you really like and happen to run out of, contact us on reception and we’ll get you topped up.

Food and meal deliveries
We don’t have an in-house delivery service, but the Deliveroo website (or their app for iOS or Android) is probably the most reliable delivery service for food and drink for your apartment. It offers choices from 100+ local restaurants.
The delivery company will need to ring 123 on arrival at the external door and we will then direct them up to your apartment.
Top tip: Insist that they park in the Rotunda’s loading bay and deliver to your door. Sometimes they cheekily try to make you go out to meet them! Here are a couple of our favourites to order in.
Plant and Pulse: a vegan, takeaway only, restaurant offering seasonal foods with strong eco credentials and an eye on gut health. We haven’t tried this place yet but it comes highly recommended from those in the know!

Sabai Sabai: Experience a true taste of Thailand in the comfort of your Rotunda apartment. Sabai Sabai Independent Thai restaurant serves up all the traditional Thai dishes you can think of as well as steaks, seafood and even set menus.
