Check-in and Check-out

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is from 3pm. You are welcome to leave your luggage in the garden lounge – it’s a covered room on the terrace – where it will be out of the way of the housekeeping team anytime from 11am.

Check-out is by 10am – this is when the housekeeping team arrive. If you want to leave the bags in the garden lounge until 1.30pm (sorry no later) then you are more than welcome.

Can I check-in earlier or check-out later?

As the house is booked out most of the time it is very difficult to offer early check-ins and late check-outs as the housekeeping team need all the time to prepare the house, pool and garden. You can of course leave your luggage for a couple of hours before check-in (from 11am) and after check-out (from 10am to 1.30pm).

What information do I need to provide ahead of arriving in Mallorca?

You will need to provide both the full names of all your guests and their ages as well as scanned copies of passports for all guests over 18 years of age, as it is a legal requirement for us to lodge them with the local police on your arrival day.

We will email you directly about this as part of your pre-arrival information, but if you have any urgent queries please don’t hesitate to contact us.

When will I receive all the information I need for my stay?

We will send out a detailed guest guide with full directions and other useful information two weeks before your stay.

How do I check-in?

We will text a key safe number to your elected mobile number the day before your arrival.

Making and paying for a booking

How do I make a booking?

You can either make the booking directly via this website – use the Book now button above – or you can email hello@stayingcool.localhost and we will confirm the booking on for you.

How do I pay for the booking?

Most guests will pay for the booking in two instalments. We take a 25% deposit immediately upon booking, which you can either pay by bank transfer (BACS) or we can take payment by credit card through this website.

If you would prefer to pay directly to a Euro account please do let us know and we will send you the details.

The balance is due six weeks before your arrival.

When you pay the balance, we also take a £300 security deposit which is returned after check-out.

If you are arriving in less than 10 weeks time then full payment will be made.

You can also pay in instalments if that is more convenient as long as the balance is paid off ten weeks ahead of your arrival date.

Do I pay in Euros or Pounds Sterling?

You can pay in either Sterling or Euros, by credit/debit card or bank transfer.

If you are paying in Euros by debit or credit card, the amount we receive must be the price quoted in Sterling (and you cover any bank fees or conversion charges).

If you wish to pay by direct bank transfer in Euros we can quote you a price in Euros before booking and will provide the details of a Mallorca bank account to make the transfer to.

How much is the security deposit?

The security deposit is £300 (350 euros) which we will return within 48 hours of your check-out date.  We need this to be made by bank transfer. We take this money when you pay your final instalment (10 weeks ahead of arrival date).

When do you make next year’s dates available to book?

We set next year’s prices and make the house available from August of the previous year. If you have a specific date in mind we recommend you email us at hello@stayingcool.localhost so we can add you to our priority list.

  • Milk
  • Local olive oil
  • Local jam
  • Bottle of fizz

There will also be basic kitchen supplies, including tea bags, sugar, salt & pepper, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, kitchen roll, cling-film and foil.

Each bathroom will be stocked with a couple of toilet rolls, shower and hand-wash. We don’t provide hair products.

If you want to pre-order additional supplies, the easiest way is to place an order online with the local supermarket and book a delivery slot for the day of your arrival (we can let you have the details). If you need any other help with pre-ordering supplies please ask and we’ll see if we can help.

What linens do you provide?

You’ll find your beds made up with some lovely white cotton bedding and enough big white fluffy bath towels for everyone. These get changed weekly if you’re with us for longer.

If you’d like to have the bed-linen or towels changed more frequently, please let us know when you book. There’ll be an extra charge but we can sort it out for you.

If you’re at the house during the summer months (May-September), you’ll find your bed made up with sheets rather than duvets.

There are also pool towels provided for use in the garden, or swimming pool. The pool towels are on the shelf in the garden room.

Can I order a food delivery during my stay?

If you want to pre-order additional supplies, the easiest way is to place an order online with the local supermarket and book a delivery slot for the day of your arrival (we can let you have the details).

Can we book a chef for the house?

For a real treat during your holiday you may want to try a private chef service from locally-based Piers Dawson. Anything from a family dinner to lunch by the pool, or a special celebratory event can be catered for to your exact requirements and in the comfort of your own holiday home. You can get a taste for what can be provided at www.piersdawson.com.

Menu options include canapés, bowl food, sit-down lunch or dinner, or a picnic for the beach. The Gourmet Arrival Package is a popular choice for guests who would like to have something freshly prepared and waiting for them on arrival after what can be a long day of travelling – this could be breakfast, lunch, dinner or late night nibbles.

How do I get to Soller Town House?

How do I get from Palma Airport to Soller Town House?

Most people arrive on Mallorca via the airport in Palma (see below for train and boat). From there, you have a number of options for getting to Soller and the house:

Car hire – there are plenty of car hire companies based on and just off the airport. It pays to shop around as prices will vary depending on season.

Taxi – there are always plenty of taxis waiting at the airport or, if you prefer to book, try Radio Taxi Soller on 0034 670 63 84 84. The journey should cost around 55 euros (for a taxi for 4) each way, excluding tip.

Bus – Take the Line 1 from the airport to Palma Centro and then pick up the bus from the Placa Espanya in Palma to Soller. Make sure you get on the Tunel/Tunnel bus which is direct and therefore much quicker!

Train – Take the Line 1 bus from the airport into Palma and then pick up the train to Soller. The trains run every few hours throughout the day but the last two trains are at just after 3pm and just after 7pm so depending on your arrival time, you may have a wait. The current cost is 19.50 euros return per person. The timetable and other information is available at www.sollernet.com

The station is a five minute walk to the house. We will send the exact address and further information two weeks before your stay.

How long is the drive from the airport to Soller?

The journey takes about 30-40 minutes depending on traffic around the airport either by taxi or car.

Travelling to Soller by Train and Boat

You can travel from any UK or mainland Europe country by train and boat. From the UK take the Eurostar to Paris (Gare du Nord) and then the train to Barcelona (from the Gare de Lyon). The Man in Seat 61 website contains lots of useful travel tips and booking information. We can highly recommend the overnight sleeper. From here you can take a ferry from Barcelona Port to Palma de Mallorca.

Which car hire companies do you recommend?

Try RecordGo, Budgetcar, Avis, Europcar, Sixt or, if you’re willing to do an off-airport collection, Centauro. It pays to shop around as prices can vary dramatically. We strongly advise you to get a small car as the streets in Soller are narrow.

Where can I park my car when I’ve arrived at Soller Town House?

You can park your car either behind the house on the road (it’s free but on a first-come basis),  in the pay-and-display car park which is two minutes away, or a free car park 5 minutes away.

How do I get around Soller while we are staying at the house?

On foot – Soller itself is a small town and it is easy to walk around.

Bus there is a good service to and from the beach every day (the journey takes 5 minutes)  and buses run hourly. The bus station is a ten minute walk from the house.

Tram – the Soller tram is a bit of a local institution and everyone should go on it at least once during their stay but at 7 euros each way for adults and children alike it is definitely more of a treat than a means of transport.

Bike and scooter hire there are a couple of hire places and further information is in the house.

Taxi – the taxi service is a little bit erratic in that there are either lots of taxis at the stand in the square or none depending on what time you are waiting! We recommend pre-booking a taxi at peak times eg summer evenings. We can give you the phone number.
