Best views in Birmingham?

Staying Cool’s spectacular views have been described as the best in Birmingham by photographers and one of the city’s top journalists alike

“An extraordinary panorama running across the skyline,” is how Jon Griffin describes our aparthotel’s breathtaking 360-degree views in an article for Chamberlink Magazine. The beautiful sunrises and sunsets are a particular treat which is why Rotunda has the best views in Birmingham.

It’s no wonder one guest described a break at the top of one of the UK’s most famous urban landmarks as feeling like you’re “sleeping in the clouds”.

A room with a view tops the list of must-haves for any city break. And you can’t beat the bird’s-eye view of the city’s iconic sights from Staying Cool’s stylish serviced penthouses and apartments. It is one of only a handful of hotels with balconies in Birmingham.

Commonwealth Games Hot Seats

Just ask Olympic champion and king of the pommel horse Max Whitlock.

The gold-medal winner recently balanced on Rotunda’s roof above Staying Cool’s penthouses and apartments for a spectacular video shoot to promote the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

British Gymnast Max Whitlock balances on the roof of Rotunda with spectacular views of the city as his backdrop.

Next year the Games’ beach volleyball and 3×3 basketball events will take place at Smithfield, which is just a stone’s throw from Staying Cool.

You may be able to catch a glimpse of the competitions from the spacious balconies and floor-to-ceiling windows, which are a signature of our aparthotel.

Want to learn more about the games? Visit our ultimate Guide to Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games for all the info! And even if you can’t see all the action from your apartment, you’ll still have one of the best views in Birmingham.

Insta Hit

Staying Cool is the ideal place for couples, families and business travellers to enjoy the city’s ever-changing skyline and to see those best views in Birmingham in a whole new light.

Photographers book mini-breaks just to capture the stunning sunrises and sunsets and the glow of the city at night thanks to its Insta-worthy location.

The brilliantly talented Nick Smith, Jag Dhesi, Verity Milligan and Ross Jukes, have all photographed Birmingham’s constantly evolving skyline from our aparthotel on the Rotunda’s top floors.

Shopping & Eating

The city centre’s landmark shopping district is right on Staying Cool’s doorstep, including the eye-catching Selfridges building, Bullring and the world’s biggest Primark, along with unique independent shops, restaurants, coffee houses and bars.

It’s easy to while away the hours at Staying Cool just relaxing and people watching from above.

Look beyond Moor Street Station and you can see the white buildings of the Custard Factory, home to creative businesses, new bars and restaurants, independent vintage shops and colourful street art.

Staying Cool Means Business

To the west of Staying Cool you can see the glass towers of the business district reaching for the sky, including the shiny new 103 Colmore Row which is making a statement in the financial district and will be the city’s tallest office building.

You can also spot the striking Library of Birmingham, the rooftops of Brindleyplace and the BT Tower with the hills of the Black Country beyond. You can also see the NEC and Airport which are just a short train ride away.

Trainspotting Heaven

If you or your little ones love trains, Staying Cool is perfect for watching them gliding in and out of New Street Station.

Look down and you have a wonderful view of the bubble rooftop of Grand Central at New Street, a popular Instagram shot.

You can also see the beautiful Edwardian Moor Street Station where at Christmas the magical Polar Express train ride has run in recent years.

Over to the east look out for the vast HS2 rail station being built and see how the area, around the historic Curzon Street station, is being transformed.

You can also spot Millennium Point, home of the Thinktank Science Museum.

Sporting Landmarks

To the south is the world famous Edgbaston Stadium cricket ground, the greenery of Cannon Hill Park and church spires stretching out into the suburbs and beyond to the Lickey Hills.

Our aparthotel is perfect for picking out the city’s sporting highlights, including the Aston Villa ground and St Andrew’s, home of Birmingham City.

Christmas Magic

Birmingham will look like a magical winter wonderland from Staying Cool’s apartments this Christmas.

The city’s famous Frankfurt Christmas Market is right on our doorstep, running from New Street to Victoria Square.

You’ll be able to enjoy aerial views of the twinkling Christmas lights, traditional wooden stalls and fairground rides.

You may even be able to see Ice Skate Birmingham’s Big Wheel over at Centenary Square and catch the delicious aroma of sweets, Glühwein and Bratwurst which fill the air. We’ve even prepared the ultimate guide to the Birmingham Christmas Markets help you along the way.
