Directions to Rotunda

On foot

Our Rotunda aparthotel has been described as ‘the pin in the centre of the map of Birmingham’.

Our building entrance is on the pedestrianised part of New Street, right next to the Bullring shopping centre entrance.

Now that’s super-central!

By Car

We don’t have parking at Rotunda but we have a super-discounted rate of just £15.00 a night in any of the Bullring’s car parks.

The closest parking to our Birmingham aparthotel is the Bullring Centre car park which is accessed via Smallbrook Queensway (Sat Nav postcode B5 4EG). It’s then about a 250m walk to our front door – depending on where you park!

Please note: the Bullring Centre car park closes at midnight and doesn’t reopen until 7am, Monday to Saturday and 9am on Sundays. If this doesn’t work for you, do let us know and we’ll help you find an alternative place to park, alas it won’t be covered by our discounted ticket price.

Just follow the signs for East Mall and park as close to the lift-lobby as you can. Then take the lift to level 2. Once you come out of the lift head for Goldsmiths (on your right). With Goldsmiths on your right walk straight ahead and exit the Bullring into Rotunda Square.

The Bronze Bull is in front of you and our entrance is directly ahead (on your left) after Zara Women.

Clean Air Zone

Birmingham city centre has been designated a Clean Air Zone since 14 June 2021 which means if you have an older car you will have to pay a fee for bringing your car into the centre of Birmingham.

The majority of new vehicles are exempt, however, if you have petrol vehicle older than 2007 or a diesel car pre 2014 is it likely you would need to pay the levy – please do check prior to travel via the Brum Breathes website.

The charge is £8 for 24 hours from midnight to midnight, this means if you arrive at 3pm on Friday and leave at 12noon on Saturday, the total charge would be £16.00.

You can pay online using the Government’s payment system or you can call the Government’s Clean Air Zone team on 0300 029 8888.

You must pay during the allocated 13-day payment window which is:

If you do not pay within the allocate timeframe, you will receive a Penalty Charge Notice in the post of £120, reduced to £60 if paid within 14 days.

By taxi

If you’re arriving by taxi or want to unload your luggage, our nearest drop-off point is on Worcester Street. (Sat Nav postcode B2 4BB).

During your stay we recommend using Uber (pick up point normally by TK Maxx, a few hundred metres away) or 24/7 Taxis who will pick you up from the rear of the building. The team on reception can guide you. Black cabs are available around the city centre, with the nearest taxi rank located outside New Street station.

By train

We’re just a three-minute walk from both New Street and Moor Street Stations.

Directions to Rotunda from New Street Station (also known as Grand Central)

From platform level follow the signs to the Main Exit (taking the escalators or lifts) and go through the ticket barriers.

Follow the signs to the Moor Street exit (also signposted Bullring), going through the huge atrium area with its bubble roof, to the exit with the Oliver Bonas store to your left.

Once outside, if you look slightly to your left and up, you’ll see the Rotunda’s circular tower with a large Bullring sign on the top. Walk towards us via either the pedestrian walkway with the planted wall or past the bus stops.

This will bring you to the rear of Rotunda on Worcester Street.

You will see some steps and a ramp with blue rails. Walk up here, going along the side of Zara Women.

Once at the top, turn left. Our entrance is just after Zara (womenswear)

Directions to Rotunda from Moor Street Station

From Moor Street Station, cross the road out of the station and turn left.

You’ll see a ramp that will take you past ARKET into Rotunda Square. In front of you, you’ll see Zara Women. The entrance to our Birmingham aparthotel is just to the right, you’ll spot the Rotunda branding above the glass doors.

By plane

Birmingham airport is the nearest airport to Rotunda.

The airport is 25 minutes away in a taxi – or just nine minutes via train to New Street Station.

Trains run approximately every ten minutes between the Birmingham Airport and New Street Station and our Rotunda aparthotel is just a three-minute walk from there (see directions above).

By Chauffeur

Going to and from Birmingham Airport, London, or just fancy travelling in style? We have negotiated special rates for guests. Please contact reception for details.

Parking

We offer a discounted parking scheme (£15.00 per night compared to the standard £25.00 for 8 hours+) at any of the Bullring car parks. This offer gives you one exit from the car park per night you stay with us. If you wish to exit more than once then we offer 25% off the short stay rates. More information on Bullring car park can be found here.

Simply park up as normal and exchange your issued car parking ticket for one of ours when you check in. We can’t retrospectively refund monies, so please do swap your ticket on check-in rather than check-out to be safe.

The nearest of the Bullring car parks is Centre which is roughly 300m away beneath the Bullring and the Rotunda.

Opening times are: Monday to Saturday 06:30 AM – 12:00 AM and Sundays: 08:00 AM – 12:00 AM

Access and available exit points will be limited outside of these hours, so if you are arriving or departing outside of the times stated above, please let us know and we will advise on the best alternative parking options.

If you have very heavy luggage then please feel free to use our loading bay to drop it off before you park up. Please email us or call us on +44 (0)121 285 1250 to arrange.

Just an FYI, if you want to use your car during your stay, it may be cheaper to use pay as you go. Also, the carpark closes at Midnight and doesn’t reopen until 7 am, Monday to Saturday and 8 am on Sundays. If this doesn’t work for you, do let us know and we’ll help you find an alternative place to park, alas it won’t be covered by our discounted tickets.
